TITAN are the world's biggest privately owned shipping container brand. And after 18 months writing for them, I can explain big metal boxes (almost) as well as anyone.

Fun fact: whenever a website copywriter works on a new project, they learn quite a lot about the business they're working for.

It's a fantastically privileged position, and while some clients exist in mind-numbingly boring fields (or ones that are nigh on – but not quite – impossible to fathom), many are pleasantly interesting. Like containers!

Denmark-based TITAN's big metal boxes are especially interesting because they have them in so many shapes and sizes, including high-tech refrigerated ones.

They have containers with no roof, containers with doors at each end, specialist containers for offshore energy clients, and even ones with no lid or sides for when you have an awkward-shaped load that needs to be put on a container ship.

You can't just plonk any old load on a seafaring vessel – it needs to be on a proper platform that conforms to shipping regulations.

An ever-growing knowledge of shipping containers

After 18 months of writing about containers, I'm pretty sure I could hold my own in a bar-room chat with a cargo ship captain (until he starts talking about literally anything other than containers).

And containers are really interesting! TITAN have a little one called the Arctic MiniStore that you can hire for a party. I want to rent one, stick it on the patio and fill it with Leffe.
